What's Included?
The Education Relationship Management System (ERMS) gathers data from
individual students to create personalized experiences. Students are able to
communicate with teachers, mentors, other students, parents, peer role models
and community leaders. While the ERMS focuses on at-risk and transitional
students, it also creates positive opportunities for relationship-building and
goal achievement for all students.
Interactive technology facilitates online and offline relationship
building. Implementation initially targets the needs of 9th and 10th grade
students - the time when students traditionally begin to act on dropping out –
and expands to 11th and 12th grade students during the school year.
A one-year site licensing agreement gives schools access 24
hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days of the year to online, interactive content
which can be initialized on an unlimited number of computers at the school.
ERMS was built upon the foundation of our Discipline and Life
Skills Series and includes the following:
-
Stick With School Series™: Identifies
students at immediate risk of dropping out of school and provides them with the
resources and tools they need to stay in school.
-
Student Success Plan™: Provides tools and
structure for teaching long-term planning and goal setting.
-
In Your Own Words™: Provides a journaling
feature that encourages self-expression and creative communication, including
opportunities to develop real-life student testimonials and personal profiles.
-
What’s On Your Mind™: Gathers implicit and
explicit data regularly through surveys, polls and the tracking of links and
interaction with other closed, internal information databases.
-
eHomeroom™: Creates a virtual community for
students that houses school, community and student resource information into a
central, easily accessible location.
-
Mentor Dashboard™: Gives administrators and
small learning communities an environment to track and monitor students that
provide early warning signals to help predict and prevent escalation of dropout
statistics. This component houses school, community and teacher resource
information into a central, easily accessible location.
-
The School Administrative Database:
Administrators can access their own school's real-time database and quickly
evaluate student progress, behavioral trends and program effectiveness.
ERMS creates dynamic content based on a variety of inputs from
the student, teachers, mentors, parents and school records. Students receive
updated grade status, feedback from mentors, and access to a broad array of
content tailored to and organized for their individualized immediate needs.
For example, hear a
testimonial about how an at-risk student, Jean Claude, dropped out of
school and then reconsidered his choices (Run time 2:27).
Teachers and staff receive preventative warnings of students
that could be or are already in trouble, updates on student academic and
attendance progress, communiqués from those they are mentoring and questions
and other input from parents.
