Dear MindOH! friends,
This
November, we enthusiastically announce the new MindOH! 2002 Advisory
Committee. The
Advisory Committee involves industry experts, educators, corporate influencers
and other cross-disciplinary leaders in the growth of MindOH!. The Committee
will introduce diverse viewpoints and provide guidance to the Company. These
generous individuals are volunteering their time to help MindOH! lead the
initiative to expand the reach and impact of character
education:
To read more extensive bios on the MindOH! Advisory Committee, please see the “Latest News” section of the MindOH! Web site at www.mindoh.com.
Additionally, MindOH! continues to
spread the word about character education. Dot Woodfin recently presented at the
23rd National Media Market Conference in Las Vegas. Leslie
Matula has authored a very inspiring article that bridges the need for character
education to the country’s recent losses. “Character Education: Now More Than
Ever” is posted on the MindOH! home page in addition to Stephen Haslam’s
latest paper, “Five Levels of a Clear Communication”, which presents a
model that allows students to communicate their points of view respectfully.
“Three Types of Disagreements: How to Change Most of Them Into Agreements”
by Rob Pennington is also now available on the MindOH! home page. Also,
registrations to view the MindOH! demo indicate that people across the nation
are showing increased interest in the unique online tools offered by MindOH!. If
you haven’t seen it yet, we encourage you to experience the demo at http://www.mindoh.com/sneak.asp.
The MindOH! Foundation is also ramping up its efforts on its first character education community service projects. The Character’s Cool Contest, open in January 2002, is gathering momentum as more donations are collected and more sponsors provide contest participants with additional prizes. The Foundation’s Thinking It Through campaign has gathered a number of conversation guides for adults and children to use to navigate the many emotions stemming from the aftermath of the September 11 attacks. These are written by psychology and education professionals voluntarily offering their expertise in an effort to help heal our nation’s youth. These will be available online when the foundation Web site is launched in early December.
We appreciate your continued
support. Best wishes for a very happy Thanksgiving. We all have so much to be
grateful for, but let’s also remember those for whom this holiday will be
difficult.
Sincerely,
The MindOH!
team
