CBS AFFILIATE KHOU FEATURES MINDOH! AT EDISON MIDDLE SCHOOL

Houston CBS affiliate, Channel 11 KHOU, featured MindOH! Wednesday, May 15, on the 5 p.m. news, and the segment has since been picked up by other CBS affiliates in California, Florida, Illinois and Louisiana. The segment was filmed at Edison Middle School, one of MindOH!'s Pilot schools, where Reporter Janice Williamson interviewed Leslie Matula, MindOH! co-founder and character education subject matter expert. The story also featured Troy Bennatte, seventh grade student, Vanessa Zenteno, seventh grade student, and Juan Gonzalez, Edison Middle School assistant principal.

The segment was very positive for MindOH! in that it focused on the story of one student's character journey and highlighted significant results from MindOH!'s program. Having been in trouble a number of times during the school year for bullying, Troy Bennatte explained how MindOH! helped him become more respectful and responsible. After going through the program, he has not been back to the office of assistant principal Juan Gonzalez, who has been closely tracking his progress. In the segment, Williamson reported that Troy's grades are no longer cause for concern. During the filming day, Troy proudly showed off his TAAS test scores and shook hands with the MindOH! staff in appreciation of his new outlook on life.

MINDOH! FILES PROVISIONAL PATENT FOR THE COMPANY'S PROGRESSIVE TECHNOLOGY

An April 2002 study by Knowledge Networks/Statistical Research reports that kids ages 8-17 choose the Internet as their medium-of-choice over television, telephone and radio. Educators using MindOH! report that students are naturally attracted to technology, and the company's high-tech delivery is engaging. Tapping into this growing trend, MindOH! is the first company to deliver character education content exclusively online, utilizing Flash technology and streaming media operating simultaneously. This month, the company filed a provisional patent to secure its progressive use of technology.
